Getting ready for the holidays can be super stressful. For me, I am doing a lot of running around to get gifts, I am also preparing a huge dinner for a lot of family, and let’s be honest, as much as I enjoy it, it definitely takes a toll on me. Self-care isn’t being selfish, it’s necessary! Today I am going to be sharing 5 simple ways that I practice self-care to keep myself happy and stress-free during the holiday madness.
5 Self-Care Rituals During The Holidays
1. Read A Good Book
As much as I love catching up on television shows, there is nothing like curling up with a good book. I am currently really into reading a lot of books about women entrepreneur’s, self-growth, and how to manifest positive things into my life. I find these books to be really motivational and inspiring towards my own goals which creates a sense of excitement and happiness within me.
2. Affirmations & Meditation
I take 20 minutes, usually in the morning before I start my day to repeat 3 positive affirmations, and meditate. It helps to clear my mind, and give me a positive outlook for the day.
3. Tea Time
I admit, I am a huge fan of coffee, but, coffee doesn’t relax me. When I make myself a nice cup of tea it forces me to sit back and take a moment. My tea of choice is usually green tea because it also has great health benefits.
4. Skincare Routine
My favorite part of my self-care rituals is definitely my skincare routine. During the holidays, I make sure to go the extra mile because the extra stress takes a toll on my skin. I have fallen in love with some new products from Aveeno®. The Aveeno® Positively Radiant® Collection is designed to enhance your natural radiance, and give you a lit-from-within glow. Each soy enriched product targets tone and texture.

The first product that I use is the new Positively Radiant Micellar Gel Cleanser. This moisture-rich cleanser contains soy and kiwi complex to help skin feel hydrated, subtle, and soft. This cleanser also works amazing as a makeup remover. It draws out skin dulling impurities, and smells delicious. I also love that this cleanser has a pump making it easy to dispense the perfect amount. All I do is apply 1-2 pumps onto my damp face and work into a lather for about 1 minute, then rinse.
For some extra TLC after cleansing, I use the Positively Radiant Max Glow Peel Off Mask. I absolutely love it’s vibrant lime green color! You simply apply, dry, and peel without having to worry about rinsing. This peel off mask reveals smoother looking skin with a more even skin tone and texture.
Lastly, to finish up this routine, I use the Positively Radiant Max Glow No-Mess Sleep Mask. Sleep masks are amazing! I love being able to massage them into my skin and let my skin absorb all of the benefits throughout the night without having to rinse until the morning. This sleep mask has the paddle applicator included for a mess-free application. I really appreciate that you can rotate the applicator tip to control wether product can flow out or not. Simply massage into the skin with the paddle, and get some beauty sleep. In the morning, you will be left with radiant, soft skin.
You can find the Aveeno® Positively Radiant® Collection at CVS stores. As one of the largest beauty retailers in the U.S., CVS Beauty makes being on-trend easier than ever! I love that there are so many CVS stores very close to where I live. CVS is always really organized and has an amazing layout which allows for easy browsing. I never have to linger in an aisle for more than two minutes before I find what I am looking for, and their awesome beauty sales are another huge plus.
I know this one sounds silly, but keeping hydrated will help you feel amazing throughout the day, and is beneficial in the long run. I like to step up my water game by infusing it with lemon, cucumber, and mint.
