Are you too busy to sit in a salon for hours waiting for process after process to change your look? As a full-time beauty blogger, and mom of three boys, I definitely do not. As the seasons change from Summer to Fall I like to warm up my look with a new darker hair color. When I am craving a new change, it has to be affordable, and easy enough for me to do independently at home. Thanks to Schwarzkopf Color Ultime box color, I easily can.
My hair is always some shade of dark brown, but during the Fall and Winter months, I love to go as dark as I can get it. Schwarzkopf Color Ultime hair dyes come in a great variety of fashionable shades ranging from light to dark, making your vision easily achievable whether it be to become a blonde, red head, a brunette, or darker. Developed with Claudia Schiffer, you get to experience fierce hair color inspired by the runway right at home. You also don’t have to worry about your hair color or shine fading for up to 9 weeks, which is a huge plus for me because that allows me to decrease the amount of times I dye my hair in short periods of time.
For this seasons at-home makeover, I decided to pick up the Schwarzkopf Color Ultime in the shade Sapphire Black. I headed to my local Walmart, and was able to easily locate the product in the hair care aisle. I paid $9.97 per box which is super affordable, and you receive 2.3 oz. of product per box. Since my hair is very thick, and long, I picked up two boxes to make sure I was able to cover root to ends.
Before applying the dye all over your head, it is very important that you test some on a small area to be sure that you don’t encounter a bad reaction. It is also a good idea to set some old towels on the floor, or space that you are working in. Once you are good to go, just follow the easy instructions that come in the box.
The process is as follows:
- Remove contents of the box
- Apply gloves to avoid staining your hands & irritation
- Squeeze the color cream into the developer lotion
- Shake until contents form a smooth cream
- Part your hair into sections
- Start applying dye at the roots and spread downwards
- Let sit for instructed time
- Rinse until water runs clear
- Shampoo & condition with the Diamond Brilliance Serum- (smells amazing!)
I couldn’t believe the results! Even after styling with heat, my hair felt really soft, it was shiny, and true to the box color shown. Since dying my hair, I have been washing it every other day, and using different styling products on it, and am happy to say that I have yet to experience any fading or dullness.
This process took me less than an hour and I didn’t run into any problems applying this myself. The instructions are clear and super easy to follow. When I think about how much time and money the Schwarzkopf Color Utime box color kit has saved me, and how amazing the results came out, I feel grateful for products like this and so happy that I don’t have to throw money and time away at the salon.
This new hair color inspired me to try out a new Fall makeup look. I wanted to use deep maroons and purples to really bring out the dark hair color, and of course pair it with a dark lip shade.
The BEST part about doing your hair at home, is using the ton of money you saved, and buying yourself some nice new clothes to complete your Fall makeover. For my outfit, I chose olive green pants to compliment the green in my scarf, and kept the rest simple with a black tank, faux leather jacket, heels and black bag.
