Hi loves!

Today I am going to be sharing my favorite curly girl hair masks that I have been loving this Summer.  Truth is, these can be used anytime of the year, but I’ve noticed I am making more use out of them in these hotter months when my hair gets more frizzy.

My curly hair, better known as Mufasa, has a mind of its own in the heat.  I tend to not use any heat styling tools because days sitting at the beach and pool in the hot sun is damaging enough along with the Chlorine, and salt water.

I shared a poll on my Insta-Stories about a month ago, and a lot of you voted that you would love to see what I use to keep my curls defined and healthy without using too much gel or hairspray.

To see how I achieve the most effortless curls with plenty of volume then just keep reading!

Hair Masks For Curly Hair

L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Pre-Shampoo Mask:  This mask is awesome for anyone who has an oily scalp like me.  My scalp is weird in the Summer because I do get flakes at times as if its dry, but my roots always get oily fast so there is an imbalance somewhere in there lol Anyway, I love applying this drugstore hair mask to my roots about twice a month before washing my hair to reduce any oil buildup.  It smells amazing, and it gives so much life back to my hair after rinsing and styling.  There is no more weighed down feeling after the excess oils are rinsed away.  It can also be applied through your ends for some hydration.

Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask:  Out of all my hair masks, this one smells the BEST!  Literally Heaven 🙂  It’s nice and thick and coats every strand easily.  This mask helps to repair damaged and dry hair with Argan Oil, and Keravis.  After rinsing this out, my curls feel super soft and it is really easy to comb through.

Deva Curl Deep Sea Repair Mask:  This was introduced to me at one of the Deva Curl events that I attended last year, and I bought a replacement as soon as I ran out which says a lot about this mask.  It uses a combination of seaweed, sea lavender, and a vegan protein blend to help your curls after heat styling and chemical treatments.  I actually leave this in my hair as a styling product and then rinse out the next day for even better results.  Worth every penny!

Amika Soulfood Nourishing Hair Mask:  Another mask I was introduced to after attending an event in Brooklyn and am so happy I gave it a try.  As soon as you open it you are hit with an awesome fragrance that basically makes you want to eat it (but please don’t) lol and cute packaging that makes you want to leave it on display in your shower 24/7.  I use this mask once a week, and noticed how well it helped my split ends.  I would detangle my hair in the shower while this product is still in, and it was so much easier.  Sadly, I just finished it up, but will definitely be purchasing a new one because it works like a charm.  Another way I have used it was to tame annoying fly aways instead of using gel.

Deva Curl Melt Into Moisture Hair Mask: If you’re a fan of matcha tea then you will love this hair mask.  It contains matcha green tea butter, sweet almond oil, and beet root extract to help retain moisture, seal hair cuticles, and improve elasticity.  You can imagine that this one smells really good too.  I love the creamy texture, and how hydrated my hair felt after using this.

So there you have it everyone!  My current favorite curly hair masks that I can’t stop using this Summer.
